Prompt for this run
Build an interactive 3D 3 by 3 Rubik's Cube using the provided Three.js library. Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed. Write it to `index.html` in the current working directory using your file tools. Inline your own CSS and JavaScript. Do not use external assets, CDNs, or network requests. Use the provided `three.min.js` (global `THREE`) through a plain local script tag; the runner will inline it into the final artifact. Required behavior: - Start solved, with six distinct face colors and visible cubie boundaries. Preserve cubie and sticker state through moves; recoloring a static cube is not sufficient. - Provide visible buttons for U, D, L, R, F, B quarter turns and their inverses. Animate each move and queue or disable further moves until it completes so state is not corrupted. - Dragging the background orbits the camera without turning a face. Keep the cube fully visible initially and support bounded wheel zoom. - Provide Scramble, applying a sequence of legal turns, and Reset to restore the solved cube and initial camera. - Only core global THREE is provided; implement camera controls without importing unavailable addons. A solver is not required. Verify: Turn one face and apply its inverse, checking that the visible stickers return to their starting arrangement. Orbit the camera to inspect the cube from another angle, then use Reset and check the solved appearance and initial framing.

Concerns: sign of pivot rotation. For face R (axis +x), clockwise when viewed from +x is a rotation of -90° around the +x axis (right-hand rule: positive rotation around +x goes y→z, and viewed from +x that's counter-clockwise). So dir=+1 (clockwise) should be a rotation of angle = -π/2 around the axis. I set angle = -(π/2 * dir) and then executed rotateOnAxis(axis, angle). For R: rotateOnAxis(+x, -π/2) = clockwise when viewed from +x. Good. For L, the axis is (-1,0,0), and dir=+1 means clockwise when viewed from -x: angle=-π/2 around the (-x) axis = +π/2 around the +x axis… clockwise when viewed from -x is counter-clockwise when viewed from +x, which is a positive rotation around +x = a negative rotation around -x. Correct. But the sign doesn't affect the correctness of the state — U followed by U' will cancel out either way. The direction convention only affects visual accuracy. Also the "attach" issue: pivot.attach requires pivot to be included in the scene graph with an updated matrix — no problem. When finishMove re-attaches to cubeGroup, the position is rounded. snapQuat using Euler angles: rotations may not decompose cleanly into axis-aligned Euler angles… actually, any composition of 90° rotations around coordinate axes yields an orientation that can be expressed with XYZ Euler angles each a multiple of 90°. Decomposition via setFromQuaternion in default XYZ order should give multiples of π/2 (with the gimbal-lock edge case of y=±π/2 — three's Euler handles that). Should be fine. Simpler alternative: snap the quaternion to the nearest rotation matrix element. Snapping via Euler is fine. Reset reconstructs cubies, but does it leak old geometry? Acceptable. One issue: cubeGroup.clear() — is Object3D.clear() available in this three version (added around r126)? The build is 2021, so probably r132+, and clear exists. OK. Also the U/D layer selection uses c.position, but during attach the cubies belong to pivot; after finish they get re-attached to cubeGroup in world coordinates (cubeGroup is at the origin with no rotation), so position is correct. Let's test in the browser.

The cube renders in a solved state. The cube is slightly cut off at the bottom by the UI panel. Camera distance 9.2, phi π/3.1. The bottom of the cube is behind the UI panel. Should raise the camera a bit or increase the distance. The cube is almost visible, but the bottom row is partially hidden by the UI. Increase dist to about 10, and adjust phi so the cube fits above the panel. Also, the B' button is wrapping to a second row — no problem. Test: click U, then U', take a screenshot; drag to orbit; wheel to zoom; scramble; reset.
Cube renders solved. The bottom is slightly hidden behind the UI panel — I'll pull the camera back a bit. First test moves:

The screenshot after clicking U shows the state after the move completed (the animation is 260ms; the screenshot was taken later than that?). The top face still looks white, and the side faces also look unchanged... wait, U rotation: the top face stays white, and the top row of the side faces is... hmm, the top row of the F face (green) should still be green after U (the U rotation cycles the top rows of F, R, B, L — all different colors! F's top row is green → replaced with L's top row's orange, etc.). Looking at the image: the top row of the front-left face is green, and the top row of the front-right face is red. If U had been applied, the front face's top row should become orange (from L). Hmm, but wait — which face is "F"? The camera is at theta π/4.2, looking at the +z (green, F) and +x (red, R) faces. After U, F's top row should show the color of the L face (orange). The image still shows green/red — meaning either the move wasn't executed, or the screenshot was taken before the animation? The status shows "Ready", so the queue is empty. Hmm, but did the click actually land on the U button? The button coordinates: the U button is around (340, 657). In the image, the U button appears highlighted (brighter). But the cube hasn't changed?
Wait — maybe the screenshot was taken right after the click, and the move animation is 260ms; the frame captured at +0ms shows the state before the move. The console output says "Frame 1, +0ms". The click tool might take a screenshot immediately. The status "Ready" suggests the queue was already processed? At +0ms the move should still be animating and the status should show "1 move(s) in progress…". Hmm, the status shows "Ready".
Maybe the click didn't trigger the button. The button is inside the #ui div; the click at (340,657) — the U button in the screenshot is around x=340, y=657. It appears highlighted (brighter background) — could be a hover style. But the status "Ready" and the unchanged cube...
Maybe the screenshot was taken after the animation completed: U was applied, then... but in that case, F's top row should be orange. Unless my U layer selection is wrong: layerCubies('U') selects y=1. Rotation around the Y axis. After U, F's top row (z=1, y=1) moves to... U (clockwise viewed from above): F's top row goes to the L side? Let me think: viewed from above (+y), clockwise rotation: front→left? Viewed from above with +z pointing down (toward the viewer at the bottom of the screen)... hmm. Standard: U moves the F top row to the L face? Actually, standard U: F→L? No: U (clockwise viewed from above) cycles F→L→B→R→F? Let me define: viewed from above, x is right, z is down (toward the front viewer). Clockwise on screen: right→down, down→left, left→up, up→right. The front face is at the bottom of the top view (z+). Clockwise: bottom→left: F's top row goes to the left side, i.e., x- = L. So F's top row becomes L's old color? No wait, F's stickers move to L; L's stickers move to B; B→R; R→F. So after U, F's top row shows R's old top row color (red). Hmm: R→F means F's top row = R's top row's old color = red. But F is green and its top row should now be red. In the image, F's top row is green. So the move wasn't applied?
Unless my rotation direction is reversed (U' behavior): then F's top row = L's color = orange. Either way, not green.
So the click didn't execute the move, or the screenshot was taken before the animation started/finished... The status text "Ready" in the DOM dump suggests no move is pending. Hmm, but maybe the DOM dump was also taken at click time +0ms, before the queue was processed? enqueue sets updateButtons immediately, so the status should show "1 move(s) in progress…" immediately. The DOM shows "Ready". So the click didn't enqueue.
Maybe the click coordinates missed: the button row is at y≈657. The U button's center is around (340,657). Hmm, in the image the U button looks slightly highlighted (hover). Maybe the click did happen but... wait, the image shows the U button with a brighter background = :hover style? Hover requires the pointer to be over it.
Or did the click hit the canvas? No, the UI is on top.
Let me click again and take a screenshot after waiting. The browser tool's "motion" might capture frames over time. Let me click U and then use the motion action to see the animation, or click and then take a screenshot (a separate call introduces delay).The click screenshot may have been taken before the animation. Let me click U and then screenshot separately:

The cube still hasn't changed, and the status is "Ready". Two clicks on U should have produced a visible change (U twice = 180°, the top row of F should be the color of B, i.e., blue). The cube hasn't changed → the clicks aren't being registered as button clicks.
Why? The buttons are inside #ui, which is position:fixed. The canvas is inside #app (position:fixed inset:0). The click coordinates (340,657) should be hitting the U button. The button appears to be highlighted (hover state) in the screenshot. Hmm, but maybe the highlight is just due to rendering.
Wait — maybe the click is actually being registered, but the move is being applied and then... no, U twice = 180°, which should be visible.
Possible bug: `pivot.attach` — does THREE r132 have Object3D.attach? Yes, since r109. cubeGroup.attach is also fine.
Maybe the issue is: enqueue → updateButtons; then in tick, startNext runs... but tick is... the render loop is working (the cube is being displayed). Hmm, but is `tick` really running? The scene is being rendered. Yes.
Wait, maybe the issue is: the click event listener is being added to the button, but the pointerdown on the canvas is... the button is not the canvas. The click should fire.
Let me check the console errors: only warnings. Hmm.
Maybe the issue is: `performance.now()` is fine.
Let me test directly: evaluate in the browser? The browser tool doesn't have an evaluate action. Actions: reload, inspect, screenshot, motion, click, drag, key, type, scroll. "inspect" might return DOM/console. Can't execute JS.
Hmm, wait — maybe the click is landing but the screenshot is being taken instantly at +0ms, and the DOM dump is also at +0ms: enqueue happens on click; the status should immediately show "1 move(s)...". Unless the click handler didn't run.
Maybe the issue is: the button is disabled? No, initially it's enabled.
Or the #ui div: `backdrop-filter` etc. are fine.
Hmm, actually maybe the click did happen, and the move executed and completed within the screenshot delay? The screenshot shows the solved state; U once → the top row of F should be red. Not solved. Two clicks → U2: the top row of F should be blue (B). The image shows green. So the move isn't happening.
Let me look at the code once more: moveNames forEach: `b.addEventListener('click', function(){ enqueue(face, dir); });` enqueue pushes to queue and calls updateButtons. tick(): if animating is null → startNext() → shift, layerCubies... pivot.attach(c) for each cubie. Then animating is set. In tick, if animating: t = (now - t0)/dur ... pivot.rotateOnAxis... at t>=1 finishMove.
Potential fatal bug: inside startNext, `pivot.rotateOnAxis` is only called in the animating branch of tick — that's fine.
Hmm wait, but there's a subtle fatal bug: `layerCubies` uses `c.position[ax]`, where ax is 'y' etc. position is a Vector3 — does position['y'] work? Vector3 has .x/.y/.z properties, and bracket access position['y'] also works. Yes.
Maybe the issue is elsewhere: the click tool dispatches events at the specified coordinates; maybe it's clicking the center of the iframe? The viewport is 1200x800; the button is at (340,657). Looks correct.
Let me try the "key" action? Not useful.
Maybe I should test with inspect: check the status text after clicking. The DOM dump shows "Ready" right after the click. If enqueue had run, the status should immediately become "1 move(s) in progress…". Unless updateButtons computed busy() as false? busy = animating || queue.length>0. After enqueue, queue.length=1 → busy true → status "1 move(s) in progress…". The DOM shows "Ready" → enqueue didn't run → the click handler didn't fire.
Why doesn't the click fire? Maybe the browser tool's click dispatches pointerdown/pointerup/click at those coordinates... my canvas pointerdown handler calls dom.setPointerCapture(e.pointerId). If the tool dispatches pointerdown on the button, the canvas handler won't fire (the target is the button). Then click on the button → handler.
Hmm, unless the tool's click is implemented as dispatching at document.elementFromPoint... that should be the button.
Wait — maybe the issue is: #ui has `backdrop-filter: blur(4px)`, which is fine.
Or... the hint div? pointer-events none. Fine.
Let me look at the screenshot again: the U button appears highlighted in both screenshots (brighter). This suggests the hover state is being applied → the pointer is over the button. So the click coordinates are correct.
Hmm, maybe the click event fires but my handler throws an exception? enqueue → updateButtons → statusEl.textContent... all defined. If an exception were thrown, it should show in the console. The console only shows WebGL warnings.
Or... maybe the tool's "click" performs mousedown+mouseup but the page listens for 'click' — that should still fire.
Wait a moment — maybe the issue is that the move is actually happening, but the screenshot/DOM is captured before the click is processed? "Frame 1, +0ms" suggests the capture is simultaneous with the action. Then the second click: also +0ms. The DOM dump shows "Ready" — captured before the handler? If the capture is simultaneous with dispatch, the handler might run after the capture. And the screenshot shows the state before the move. That's plausible! The tool captures the frame at action time, not after.
So to see the result, I need to take a separate screenshot action after the click. The previous sequence: click, click, and each returned a screenshot at +0ms. I've never taken a screenshot afterward. Let me take a screenshot now — if two U clicks were registered, the cube should show U2 (top row of F = blue... wait, U2: top row of F = B's color = blue; top row of R = L = orange).
The screenshots are captured at click time. Let me screenshot now to see accumulated state:

Even after 2 clicks and time passing, the cube is still in the solved state. In other words, the clicks aren't being registered at all. The U button looks like it's in a hover state... or maybe that's just the normal color, and the first button just looks slightly brighter because of :hover? In the first screenshot (right after reload), the U button was already bright! Looking at the image on the first reload: the U button is bright. Hmm, in the first screenshot after reload, the U at (340,657) looks bright—maybe the pointer was left there from a previous action? At reload time, no. Actually, in the first screenshot the U button appears to be the same color as the others? Re-checking: in the first image, all buttons look the same, but... it's hard to tell. In screenshots 2 and 3, U is bright. So the hover is working (the pointer is on U), but the click handler isn't firing? Or the click is firing but the move isn't happening. Debugging approach: add a status display? Better yet: use the browser's "inspect"? That just dumps DOM/console. Alternative: maybe the issue is that my script is running before three.min.js is loaded? No—I'm loading three first with a synchronous script tag, and my script is after it. And the cube is being rendered, so the script did run. Maybe an exception inside the click handler: enqueue → updateButtons → moveBtns.forEach... no problem. Hmm, but wait: inside enqueue I'm calling updateButtons, which references scrambleBtn etc.—already defined earlier. OK. Maybe the click handler is attached but the button is being recreated? No, that's not it. Hmm—maybe the tool's click is sending pointerdown to the canvas via elementFromPoint... #ui is on top. elementFromPoint at (340,657) = the button. Let me test another way: click Scramble at (551,734) and then take a screenshot. If nothing happens, then clicks aren't reaching the page at all (tool issue), or the handler is broken. No wait—maybe the problem is my pointerdown handler on the canvas: `dom.setPointerCapture(e.pointerId)`. If the tool dispatches pointerdown at the document level, or on the canvas regardless of the target... if pointerdown is dispatched on the canvas element (the tool might dispatch on the element at those coordinates—that would be the button). Hmm. But here's a realistic possibility: the tool's click dispatches mousedown/mouseup/click. My canvas listener uses 'pointerdown'. If the tool only synthesizes mouse events, pointer events might still fire (in a real browser, pointer events are generated from actual input, not from synthetic mouse events). If the tool uses CDP's Input.dispatchMouseEvent, then pointer events are generated. OK. For the button's 'click' listener: a synthetic click event via CDP should trigger it. Let me check whether the click is doing something: status text. Take a screenshot after clicking scramble... the screenshot shows the status. Let me click scramble and then take a screenshot.
Cube unchanged — clicks may not be registering. Test with Scramble:

The scramble is working — mid-animation, the R layer is rotating (the yellow sticker is visible, and the layer is rotating). The buttons are disabled during the move (grayed out). So clicks do work; the earlier U clicks were... wait, the earlier U clicks: the status remained "Ready" and the cube was in the solved state. But now the scramble works. Hmm — maybe the earlier U clicks actually did execute: click 1 at +0ms, then click 2 at +0ms... but the screenshot after that showed the solved state. If two U clicks had been queued and executed, the cube should show U2. Unless the earlier clicks missed the button (maybe the button coordinates were different?). The U button is at (340,657): in the screenshot, the U button is at about (340,657). Hmm, but the status after those clicks showed "Ready"...
Wait, actually maybe the earlier clicks did hit, but... the status in the DOM dump right after the first U click showed "Ready". If enqueue had executed, the status should show "1 move(s)". So those clicks weren't enqueued. But the scramble click was enqueued ("18 move(s) in progress"). Strange. Maybe the earlier clicks were consumed... hmm, the first click was at (340,657): at that moment, was the page still showing the hover highlight? Oh well — maybe the first two clicks landed during the initial "Frame 1" capture, before the page's JS event listeners were... no, the listeners are attached at load time.
Hmm, actually maybe the first two clicks did enqueue U and U, and the moves executed (U2), and then... but the screenshot shows the solved state. U2 is not the solved state.
Or maybe the first two clicks hit the canvas (the coordinates were off?), causing an orbit drag? The camera hasn't changed.
Mystery. But maybe the tool's click requires the element to not be moving; oh well. Important check: after the scramble completes, click U and then U' and verify it returns to the same state. Let's wait for the scramble to complete (19 moves × 260ms ≈ 5 seconds). Then screenshot, then click U, wait, screenshot, click U', wait, screenshot, compare.
Also, fix the framing: the bottom of the cube is hidden behind the UI panel. Raise the camera distance to about 10 and shift the lookAt target slightly upward? Better approach: keep lookAt(0,0,0) but increase dist to 10.5 and set phi to about 1.05 (60°)? Currently phi=π/3.1≈1.012 rad ≈58°. The bottom edge is at y≈-1.5-... In the screenshot the bottom vertex is around 630px, and the panel starts at 630. Slightly overlapping. dist 9.2→10.5 will shrink it. Also, maybe I can move the UI panel: it's fine, just pulling the camera back is enough.
First, wait for the scramble to finish, then take a screenshot.
Scramble works and buttons disable during moves. Wait for it to finish, then verify U / U' inverse:

The cube is showing the SOLVED state again after the scramble completed?! Status is "Ready". So the scramble ran 19 moves but the cube ended up solved?? That can't be right... unless the moves aren't being applied to the state (the animation runs but the state resets?).
Look at finishMove: after pivot.rotateOnAxis during animation, at t>=1: pivot.rotation.set(0,0,0); pivot.updateMatrixWorld(); then cubeGroup.attach(c) — attach preserves the world transform. But we set pivot.rotation to zero before attach... attach computes relative to pivot's current world matrix — since we zeroed pivot's rotation first, the cubie's world transform = its local (rotated?) no wait!
The bug: during animation, the cubie's local transform is unchanged; the rotation lives on the pivot. At finish, if we zero pivot.rotation before attach, then the cubie's world transform loses the rotation! We must attach while pivot still holds the final rotation. Order should be: keep pivot rotation at final angle, then attach each cubie (which bakes world transform into cubeGroup space), then zero pivot rotation.
In my finishMove I zero pivot first — destroying the rotation. Hence every move visually snaps back to solved. That also explains the earlier U clicks: they were applied but reverted! (And status showed Ready because by screenshot time the move had completed... but earlier DOM dump at +0ms showed Ready... hmm, at +0ms of click the queue should show 1 move. Unless the click's DOM dump happens after event processing + a frame? The scramble click's dump showed "18 move(s) in progress" so dumps are post-handler. The first U click dump showed "Ready"... confusing. Unless the first U click missed the button (hit canvas instead) — but then hover highlight? The highlight we saw might just be the button's normal style vs... In screenshot 1 (reload) U looks same as others? Actually in screenshot 1 U also looks slightly lighter. Hmm, maybe just rendering.
Whatever: main bug identified. Fix finishMove:
function finishMove() {
pivot.updateMatrixWorld();
animating.layer.forEach(c => cubeGroup.attach(c));
pivot.rotation.set(0,0,0);
... snap positions/quats
}
attach uses pivot's world matrix (still rotated) → correct bake. Then zero pivot.
Also earlier mystery: U clicks did enqueue and complete, reverting to solved — but DOM dump at click time showed "Ready"... maybe dump is after a rAF frame? 260ms animation, dump immediate... shouldn't show Ready. Unless the click triggered enqueue and then... hmm, updateButtons sets status to "1 move(s) in progress…". Dump showed "Ready".
Oh wait. Got it: in startNext, if queue non-empty and not animating, we shift and set animating. In tick, animating branch runs pivot rotation; at t>=1 finishMove. Fine.
Hmm but status: enqueue sets "1 move(s)...". Unless the first two clicks didn't land on U (coords (340,657)) — in the screenshot the U button center is ~(340,657). Hmm but hover highlight appears in screenshots 2, 3, and also 1? In screenshot 1 (right after reload, before any click) U already looks lighter... comparing: shot 1: U bg looks same #33384a as others? I see slight difference but could be image compression.
Alternatively the first click landed while page was still...? No.
Let me stop overthinking; maybe the tool's first click after reload gets swallowed. The second U click: dump also showed "Ready". If both clicks were swallowed, cube stays solved — consistent. Then scramble click worked. And this screenshot shows solved because moves revert (bug). Consistent with: clicks 1, 2 swallowed (or applied+reverted with dump timing off), scramble applied+reverted.
Actually if clicks 1, 2 were applied and reverted, dump at click 2 time should show "1 move(s)" (since click 1's move completed in 260ms and click 2 enqueues). Dump showed Ready. So clicks 1, 2 truly swallowed. Odd but maybe tool warmup. Scramble click worked, so clicks do work generally.
Now fix finishMove. Also improve framing (dist 10.2). And verify U then U' returns to same arrangement, orbit drag, wheel zoom, reset.
Edit finishMove:
function finishMove() {
pivot.updateMatrixWorld();
animating.layer.forEach(function (c) {
cubeGroup.attach(c);
...
});
pivot.rotation.set(0, 0, 0);
animating = null;
updateButtons();
}
Note: cubeGroup.attach(c) needs cubeGroup's matrixWorld updated — it's identity at origin, fine.
Also snap positions after attach.
Also camera: change HOME dist to 10.4 to fully show cube above panel. Maybe also reduce phi slightly to ~1.05? Current view is nice; just farther. Set dist 10.4.
Found a bug: `finishMove` resets the pivot's rotation to zero *before* re-attaching the cubies, so the rotation gets lost and the cube always snaps back to the solved state. Fixing this and pulling the camera back a bit for full visibility:
{"path":"/tmp/job-zDvvJ4/index.html","edits":[{"oldText":" function finishMove() {\n pivot.rotation.set(0, 0, 0);\n pivot.updateMatriSuccessfully replaced 2 block(s) in /tmp/job-zDvvJ4/index.html.
thinking
Wait: snapQuat after attach — the position is rounded, but the quaternion snap uses Euler angles; for a 90° rotation composition, XYZ-order Euler angles give multiples of 90° — generally OK (gimbal case is also handled by three's Euler extraction, producing e.g. (±90, ±90, 0)... rounding each to the nearest 90 preserves the rotation? At gimbal, extraction returns x=90, y=some value, z=0? For a rotation matrix of 90° increments, setFromQuaternion returns exact multiples in the non-gimbal case; in the gimbal case (y=±90), x and z are under-constrained but three returns a specific solution with x−z or x+z determined; for 90°-increment matrices the extracted values will still be multiples of 90. Rounding is a no-op or a safe snap. Good. Reload and test: click U, wait, screenshot; click U', wait, screenshot; compare with the initial state.

The U move has been applied and is now being retained: the top row of the F (green) face shows red (from R), and the top row of the R (red) face shows blue (from B). This matches U (clockwise as viewed from above): R→F, B→R. Correct standard U. Next, click U' and confirm that it returns to the solved state.
U move now persists correctly (R→F, B→R top rows). Now the inverse:

U' has been applied (the screenshot already shows the solved state, and the status displays "1 move in progress" — the screenshot was captured at the end of the animation; the cube has returned to the solved arrangement: green front, red right, white top — matches the initial state). Zoomed in (max zoom limit 5.5 — the cube got bigger but isn't abnormally close; the bottom is slightly cut off by the panel, but this is user-induced zoom so it's within acceptable range; the limit is working: delta -1600 means a large zoom-in; distance is clamped at 5.5). Reset restored the solved cube and the initial camera framing (identical to the initial screenshot). Remaining quick checks: 1. Scramble persists a scrambled state (previously it was reverting; now fixed). Click Scramble, wait ~6 seconds, screenshot — expect a scrambled state. 2. Also, confirm that moves during animation are blocked (buttons get disabled — already confirmed earlier via the grayed-out buttons). 3. Possibly test another move pair (R R') to check the snap on a different axis. Time budget is fine (~used about 6 minutes?). Let's do scramble + screenshot, then R, R' check? The U/U' check is already done; the R axis uses the same code path. Do one quick R check after the scramble? That would change the state; oh well — just visually confirm that the R rotation is preserved. Plan: click Scramble, sleep via bash for 6 seconds, screenshot.
Reset restores solved state and initial framing. Final check — scramble persists a scrambled state:

The scrambled state is correctly preserved along with the mixed stickers. All required behaviors have been verified: - Starts in solved state, 6 colors, cubie boundaries ✓ - Buttons U U' D D' L L' R R' F F' B B' ✓, animations ✓, disabled during moves ✓ - U then U' returns to the original arrangement ✓ - Drag orbits the camera without rotating faces ✓; wheel zoom is clamped ✓ - Scramble ✓ preserves state; Reset restores solved state + initial camera ✓ - No console errors (only WebGL performance warnings from the sandbox). One more sanity item: Reset from the scrambled state has been verified earlier (from solved state + after zoom/orbit). Reset from scrambled state uses the same rebuild path — safe. Done. Reporting.
All checks pass. The final `index.html` is in place. **Verified in browser:** - Initial load: solved cube, 6 distinct colors, black cubie bodies giving visible boundaries, fully visible above the control panel; no console errors (only sandbox WebGL perf warnings). - `U` turn animates and persists (top rows cycle R→F, B→R correctly); `U'` then returns stickers exactly to the starting arrangement. - Buttons disable (with status "N move(s) in progress…") while a move/queue runs, preventing state corruption. - Background drag orbits the camera (inspected L/F sides) without turning any face; wheel zoom clamps at near/far bounds. - Scramble queues 20 legal turns, animates them sequentially, and the mixed sticker state persists afterward. - Reset rebuilds the solved cube and animates the camera back to the exact initial framing. **Fixed during testing:** a bug where `finishMove` zeroed the pivot rotation before re-attaching cubies (moves visually reverted); now the rotation is baked into cubie transforms via `attach` while the pivot still holds it, with position/quaternion snapping to keep the state grid-aligned. **Not verified:** long random sequences against an external reference model (no solver used), touch-pointer input, and window-resize behavior beyond code review.
