Prompt for this run

Build an interactive 3D 3 by 3 Rubik's Cube using the provided Three.js library. Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed. Write it to `index.html` in the current working directory using your file tools. Inline your own CSS and JavaScript. Do not use external assets, CDNs, or network requests. Use the provided `three.min.js` (global `THREE`) through a plain local script tag; the runner will inline it into the final artifact. Required behavior: - Start solved, with six distinct face colors and visible cubie boundaries. Preserve cubie and sticker state through moves; recoloring a static cube is not sufficient. - Provide visible buttons for U, D, L, R, F, B quarter turns and their inverses. Animate each move and queue or disable further moves until it completes so state is not corrupted. - Dragging the background orbits the camera without turning a face. Keep the cube fully visible initially and support bounded wheel zoom. - Provide Scramble, applying a sequence of legal turns, and Reset to restore the solved cube and initial camera. - Only core global THREE is provided; implement camera controls without importing unavailable addons. A solver is not required. Verify: Turn one face and apply its inverse, checking that the visible stickers return to their starting arrangement. Orbit the camera to inspect the cube from another angle, then use Reset and check the solved appearance and initial framing.

Should design. Single HTML, UI. Should have actual moves state via cubies group each mesh with six material faces and state position orientation animated layers, reparent careful. Can use THREE.Group cubie, each cubie position integer*spacing, material colored on exterior and dark inside. Standard geometry BoxGeometry 0.94. Cube coordinate x,y,z -1 0 1. Face R x=1, L -1, U y1 D-1 F z1 B-1. Move clockwise viewed from outside = rotation -90 around outward normal axis? THREE right hand: For face U normal y+, clockwise viewed above looking -y, should -90 around +y. yes. R -90 +x, F -90 +z. Negative faces: clockwise viewed outside -axis => -90 around normal = +90 global. So notation angle = -PI/2 * sign coordinate for positive quarter. inverse positive.

Animation layer pivot attach selected cubies while preserving world transforms, rotate pivot around world axis then detach preserving world, snap positions/quaternion. Simpler direct each cubie as child of cubeRoot, create pivot child cubeRoot rotation 0, pivot.attach(cubie) (updates matrices), animate pivot rotation[axis], at finish updateMatrixWorld, cubeRoot.attach(cubie), snap. State preserved in object orientation. Build 27 cubies including center interior, outer visible all materials. Could build 26 excluding center. Fine.

Should have UI strong visual. Dark charcoal cream? Rubik vibrant colors with tactile physical model. Page light warm gray? Design stylish app likely screenshot. I'll make polished responsive studio: off-white background, black typography, centered giant 3D cube right/center, left title and description plus move controls bottom dock. User wants interactive. Build full screen app with header brand "CUBIC / INTERACTIVE STUDY 001" small. Layout left title "A classic,\nin your hands." maybe actual task should prominent "Rubik’s Cube". Better elegant top header "CUBE / 003", center title Rubik’s cube and subtitle. 3D canvas huge center-left? Should maximize visual. Perhaps dark background creates colors. Choose warm neutral #f2f0ea, dark ink. Header with logo cube icon, "CUBEFORM" and badge "3 × 3". Main display grid left intro panel width 280, right stage. Bottom controls face buttons 12 in a row or groups. Side current status and reset scramble. Should visible initial entire cube and controls. Use top header 70px, main flex 1 min-height 400, bottom panel 190. Desktop 1200x800: header 70, main 480, bottom 180. Left aside text at x48 y130; cube centered x740 y350. Buttons bottom. Perhaps screenshot cube right ~450px. Color sticker face boundaries dark bevelled cubie, scene plane/shadows maybe ambient and directional. Core WebGL shadow. Set renderer antialias alpha true, preserve. Background same. Ground plane horizontal shadow at y -2.35, cubeRoot lifted y0.2. Contact plane receives shadows. Orthographic camera for elegant product display or perspective. Perspective fov 34, pos(7,6,8), distance 12. Cube size3, fully visible. Camera controls custom spherical orbit with damping. Initial theta ~0.65, phi 1.03? spherical position x = r sinphi sintheta z = r sinphi costheta, y = r cosphi. theta .68 phi 1.03 r 10.5. Fov 36 gives vertical span at target ~6.8 enough. On mobile adjust r maybe 12.8. Bounded zoom [7,15]. Drag background anywhere canvas orbits, no face turns by dragging. Buttons for moves only okay.

Controls visible U U′ D D′ etc. Could group each face two buttons. Notation labels + tooltip "Up clockwise". Use buttons with face initial and prime superscript. Color-coded tiny dot maybe 6 groups. Bottom "MOVES" and grid. Buttons tactile light. Scramble coral or black; Reset light. Status live "Solved & ready", move count, last move. Move queue allow queue. Scramble applies 20 turns no immediate inverses and not same face consecutively, queue processing. Disable buttons while scramble? Requirement queue or disable. General can queue with cap, and Scramble disabled if queue animating, move buttons disabled during scramble for clarity. But user can queue manual moves rapidly. Implement enqueue(move), if !scrambling. Buttons remain unless queue length >= maybe. Status updates. Reset clears queue and animation? Reset should restore solved cube and initial camera. If animation active easiest clear queue, if animating need finalize/cancel then rebuild entire cube safely. Rebuild scene cubeRoot remove old and new solved. animation=null, queue=[], scrambling false, moveCount=0. Reset camera smooth or immediate? restore initial. camera target values, maybe instant. Make sure stale animation finish not called after rebuild (frame checks local?). Animate uses currentMove and progress; reset currentMove=null. old pivot removed with cubeRoot. Great.

Scramble queue sequence, set scrambling=true, enqueue moves bypass. Button disabled all moves and scramble; Reset enabled. After queue finishes status "Scrambled • 20 moves", scrambling false. Could user click Reset mid scramble yes. Move count display count all, reset 0. Solved detection after each move using colors? Can maintain state and detect cubie orientation/positions solved, but scramble can coincidentally. Status "Ready" and move count enough. Could isSolved test every cubie position matches userData.home and quaternion identity; center orientation perhaps rotations matter, solved appearance center orientation irrelevant but test all can return false after 4 turns same face? Actually cubies restored all identity after snapping exact so true. Great. update status "Solved" if check. For all home vector compare. Quat dot near1. Note rotation center cubie identity after 4 etc.

Move notation state. Render loop pivot rotation using easing easeInOutCubic. Duration 280 ms manual, scramble 140 ms. Queue uses current duration assigned. If next move status. Should ensure cubeRoot matrix updates attach correct. cubeRoot rotation maybe static y=0 no animated idle (user wants inspect). Can no idle.

Cubie appearance: BoxGeometry with slightly rounded? Core only can construct rounded box using Shape extrude? Too complex, BoxGeometry with bevel impossible. Could use RoundedBox custom geometry via bevelled Box using extrude? Better visible cubie boundaries, black plastic bodies and colored stickers separately. Each cubie base black box 0.96 with MeshStandard black. Add six stickers as thin boxes 0.84x0.84x0.018 positioned .491 on each exterior face. Sticker each BoxGeometry dimensions based normal, material face colors; but moving with cubie groups. This yields nicely boundaries and slight raised sticker. Rounded sticker planes shape with roundedRect ShapeGeometry oriented, at .486 with black body. Lighting and polygon offset. Stickers shape rounded squares radius .08 and base box black. Use PlaneGeometry maybe bevel from MeshStandard and separate border. Sticker as rounded ShapeGeometry with MeshStandardMaterial roughness .32 metalness .02 side DoubleSide. Place 0.486 and orient PlaneGeometry default facing +z. For +z no rotation; -z rotate yPI; +x rotate yPI/2; -x -PI/2; +y rotate x -PI/2; -y rotate x PI/2. base box size .96 spacing1.02 = gaps .06. Sticker plane at .486. Slight gaps. Thin colored boxes more tactile, can use BoxGeometry .84 .84 .025 with same orientation? Rounded ShapeGeometry nice no shadow thickness but okay. Can make sticker backing black rounded square scale .92 then color .82? Base enough.

Use per-face shared materials; sticker geometry shared. Cubie group body plus stickers. 26* meshes fine. Internal base faces visible only gaps black.

Shadows use directional shadow 1024, plane big color same. Ambient hemisphere and directional + fill. Renderer outputEncoding = THREE.sRGBEncoding (r128 likely). ACESFilmicToneMapping and exposure1.1. Colors if tone mapped less saturated. use standard hex: U #f7f5e9, D #ffd72e, R #d94136, L #ff832e, F #35ad68, B #3274d9. Traditional scheme F green R red U white. Camera initial sees U,F,R. Clear.

Background stage maybe CSS radial and canvas transparent. Ground plane only shadow material? THREE.ShadowMaterial opacity .12 plane horizontal and renderer alpha. Ambient. Add ellipse CSS? ShadowMaterial works transparent.

Orbit pointer events canvas. pointerdown set dragging true, canvas setPointerCapture. pointermove update desired theta/phi by deltas .006. Bound phi 0.28 to PI-0.28 maybe can underside. Wheel preventDefault bounded radius 7.2-15.5. cursor grab grabbing. Damping current values approach targets .12; reset set both current target. User says reset initial framing. On resize adapt stage canvas dimensions and aspect, adjust camera? radius initial based aspect. Use Perspective fov 34. If aspect <1 radius *= 1.2 maybe reset. Initial function defaultRadius = width<700? 12.4:10.6. At desktop stage width ~800 height~500 aspect1.6 and vertical 500 fov34 dist10.8 height6.6. cube diagonal about4.8 plus shadows fits. Mobile stage height 430 width390 aspect.9, vertical span dist12*0.61=7.3 horizontal6.6 fits. Fine.

HTML no external. Accessibility labels. On-screen hint with mouse icon. Button U and U′ visible. Keyboard optional nice keys u,d... shift inverse, space scramble? Could support keydown excluding buttons? Add keyboard help maybe not needed. Actual required all.

Perhaps number moves. Footer status.

At finish status logic issue: if !queue length then if scrambling false sets false then setStatus(isSolved ? ... : scrambling ? ... : ready). Fine if scramble complete ready. okay.

Potential rotation correctness snapping Euler issue. Quaternion to Euler can produce weird gimbal and rounding. For 90 degree orientations, Euler values are multiples but gimbal lock can lead to e.g quaternion from sequence yielding Euler x=PI, y=0,z=PI etc all multiples okay. Some orientation at gimbal y=PI/2 yields x,z decomposition but still multiples. fine.

Should improve colors saturation perhaps user six distinct visible not all initially but orbit. Lighting washed significantly red pink green pale. Still distinct. Could lower exposure .9 and hemisphere .8 key1.2 to richer. Current ACES tone maps material color with 1.45+1.05 overexposure. Typical total intensity2.5 causing washed. Standard MeshStandard physically correct? r128 light intensities not physically. Set hemisphere .8 key1.1 fill .35 exposure .95. White slightly gray but okay. Rubik should vibrant. I'll adjust key etc perhaps make red red. Also base appears gray green rather than black due highlights. plastic color0x171a18 under strong lights appears gray. Lower lights fixes. Do it. Also statusbar overlapping hint at same region bottom, current okay but left title. Could move status right? No.

Should concern scene uses actual stickers ShapeGeometry shared oriented front normal, double side shadows okay. Verified moves.

Test mobile perhaps resize screenshot browser fixed cannot change. Could rely.

Perhaps verify all move buttons click coordinates and inverse correctness mathematically using custom internal no exposure. Could inject tests impossible browser evaluate. I can reason. One issue beginNext selected cubies positions local to cubeRoot yes. During current move next not called. after finish attach cubies cubeRoot but their position when attach from pivot world gets local cubeRoot. good.

Reset while current pivot has cubies removes whole root then build new, no memory disposal but reused geometries/materials. groups GC. Fine.

Queue manual: scramble disabled during manual queued. Requirement Scramble applying legal turns. good.

Wheel bounded. Camera initial fully visible yes.

Status "Front inverse" at one move screenshot scramble. fine.

Perhaps disable further moves until completes OR queue yes.

I'll adjust lights and perhaps sticker colors more saturated.

Still pastel but acceptable. Perhaps tone mapping is causing this and all materials color management output encoding double? three r128 colors hex linear? Typically Cube examples pastel if white lighting. Could use MeshBasic for stickers, exact colors, no shading, shape has no 3D lighting. Visual better vivid red green. Use MeshStandard with emissive slight color? Set emissive colors and emissiveIntensity .1 makes lighter. Should darker not. Reduce key .8 hemisphere .5 exposure .8 might make base dark and colors richer but whites gray. ACES desaturates at high intensity. Use THREE.NoToneMapping and output sRGB gives original colors times light >1 clamps maybe red pure saturated. Current color #d94336 shown #e7998a; huge desaturation. ACES known desat. NoToneMapping likely #ff6a57 overexposed. Lower lights. Could set renderer.toneMapping = THREE.NoToneMapping and light hemi .65 key .75 fill .2. white maybe white. Output actual colors likely. But aesthetics current pastel elegant and six distinct colors when orbit. Requirement not saturation. No need risk.

Now respond concise report file and tests. Mention console only WebGL performance warnings no errors. Unverified mobile perhaps not necessary but instruction report behaviors remain unverified. Could say all 12 not individually? I tested U/U' scramble all uses random not every. Report "Checked U/U′ restoration, orbit/reset, 20-move scramble, initial framing. Other face buttons share same move path but weren't each manually tested; touch/mobile not tested." That's concise honest.

Built `index.html` with a self-contained interactive Three.js Rubik’s Cube. Features include: - Animated U, D, L, R, F, B turns and inverses with queued moves - Persistent cubie/sticker transformations - Drag-to-orbit camera and bounded wheel zoom - 20-move Scramble and complete Reset - Responsive interface and keyboard turn controls Verified in-browser: - U followed by U′ restores the solved arrangement - Camera orbit and Reset restore initial framing - Scramble completes all 20 moves - Reset restores solved colors and zero move count - No JavaScript console errors Other face buttons use the same tested movement path; mobile touch behavior was not separately verified.
