I'm tweaking the drop spawn timing and speed to start closer to the screen and move faster, randomizing initial positions so the effect populates immediately, and adjusting the trail fade rate for smoother motion.

thinking
The trails are shorter than I want since I'm clearing cells before redrawing with a fade of 0.08, giving only about 4 characters of trail. I'll reduce the fade value to 0.04 for longer trails.

I wrote the Matrix rain to `/tmp/job-SilSuc/index.html`. It's one self-contained file with no external resources. It runs as a full-screen black canvas. Each column drops green katakana (plus digits) at its own speed, and the leading character is bright and glowing. Resizing the window rebuilds the columns. I checked it in the browser with two screenshots. The first showed only a few glyphs near the top. I changed the starting positions and speeds, and the second screenshot showed columns spread across the screen. After that screenshot I lengthened the trailing fade by lowering the fade opacity from 0.08 to 0.035. I didn't reload or screenshot after that last change, so the longer trails haven't been checked. The console showed only a sandbox warning from the preview iframe.
